How great is the risk of losing vision with Plaquinel?

I am presently taking 15 mg. of Prednisone (began at 60 in August) for Giant Cell Arteritis. I am an artist, and the thought of losing my vision is more than I can bear! Now, in the hope of slowing down the advance of my R.A., I have also begun Plaquinel. How great is the risk of losing vision with Plaquinel?

How safe is it to take Remicade on a 54 yr old female who has fought RA for 53 years

Dr. thinks the only thing that would help me now is Biologics. thinks Remicade would work best. I am overweight, plus gained 40 lbs. in last year due to adding Prednisone to drugs. I take 5 mg of Prednisone (have cut in 1/2 since Jan.) 2 Voltaren daily 75 mg, 1 Arava daily. Tried both versions of Methotexate Pill & injection & both made me too sick feeling for days afterward.

How long should mtx take to work, especially on scleritis (eye inflamation?)

I'm on Enbrel, sulfasalazine, prednisone, and have recently added mtx to try to get my eye under control. It has been red and inflamed for 3 months. After 3 weeks of mtx my dose went up to 20 mg, and after 4 weeks total I have seen no improvement. I'm worried it is not going to work at all, and not sure what the next step would be.

For 10 years plus, I have been treated with Naproxen for arthritis in my knees. My pain and stiffness in my knees has increased over the years. Gradually, I have added joint pain in my knuckles, hips, shoulders, ankles and feet. Within the past year, I have developed numbness in my toes that vascillates between extreme cold and pain and tingling.

Effect of Remicade, pred., MTX, plaquenil, celebrex on fracture healing

Complete fracture of ulna 4 weeks ago. Also hairline fracture of elbow. In a long arm cast for 2 wks at which time x-rays showed healing. Put in fracture brace - within 3 days agonizing pain, feeling of bones moving. X-ray showed nonunion - in other words arm rebroke. Back in long arm cast for 2 weeks hoping to avoid recommended surgery.

I've read that sometimes nodules can disappear and reappear. How do I know when I should have them surgically removed? What are the pros and cons of removal versus living with the nodules?

Once JRA, now RA?

I was diagnosed with JRA when I was a young kid.
Now that I'm an adult and I still see a rheumatologist for my active disease, does this mean I now have RA? What's the difference?
